Most liely, Miss Rita Stuart Malloch (September 12, 1896 – November 14, 1970) was a member of a prominent Canadian family originally from Arnprior, Renfrew County, Ontario. She was the daughter of George and Harriet Malloch.
As a young woman, she pursued a career in healthcare, moving to New York City to attend the prestigious Columbia University Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing, graduating in the Class of 1920. In 1935, she was a 39-year-old independent professional woman working as a nurse. It wasn't until later in life that she married William Gordon Genner.
The name Mrs. Eldridge associated with her name in the Sales book is not understood.
There may be a direct professional connection between Miss Rita Stuart Malloch and the name Eldridge during this era.
When Rita Stuart Malloch was training and working, Miss Adda Eldridge was one of the most prominent, powerful figures in North American nursing.
Adda Eldridge was heavily involved with the Columbia University Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing, which is the exact institution Rita graduated from in the Class of 1920.
