During the 1920s and 1930s, the Paris branch of the American bank J.P. Morgan & Co. (Morgan & Cie) at 14 Place Vendôme served as a central financial and social hub for wealthy American and international expatriates, tourists, and academics traveling through Europe.

The bank famously provided a mail-holding and forwarding service. Wealthy travelers and long-term expats who lacked a permanent residence in France used "Care of Morgan & Co." as their official European postal address.

 

Clinton Hancock Miller Jr. parents were Clinton Hancock Miller (Sr.) and Marion Colby, who married in early 1904.

 

Clinton Hancock Miller (Senior) was a prominent figure from Minneapolis, Minnesota, best known in historical archives for his marriage to Marion Colby in April 1904

 

Given his mother's maiden name (Colby), it is highly probable that Mrs. Belle Colby Carrington was his maternal aunt.
