This etching was created in 1916 for the wife of Ambassador William Graves Sharp, depicts the garden of their home located at 14, avenue d'Eylau (see photo).

It was most probably used as an invitation card or a menu for Christmas for the year 1916.

Additional note at top of detail sheet: ‘’Mrs. Will. G. Sharp’’ (William Graves Sharp served as the U.S. Ambassador to France during World War I (1914–1919).
