Born in Salina, Kansas, USA on 22 Oct 1899 to Fred David Shellabarger and Florence Jesse Pitts.
Fred David Shellabarger (1870–1917) was a prominent milling executive and business manager in the American Midwest.
As part of one of the oldest and largest milling families in the United States he was the Secretary, Treasurer, and executive manager for The Shellabarger Mill & Elevator Company in Salina, Kansas.
Julia Curtiss Shellabarger married Joseph Franklin Porter of Kansas City an
