''Les Rochers''
"Les Rochers" was a private estate located at 11 avenue de Lylle in Rueil-Malmaison in the Parc de la Malmaison, close to the historic Château de Malmaison in Reuil Malmaison.
The Parc de la Malmaison was divided into lots to be sold to private owners starting in 1877.
Following the Franco-Prussian War and the collapse of the Second French Empire, the heavily damaged estate (the Empress Joséphine’s original 726-hectare estate) was sold at auction by the French state to a commercial goods merchant. This merchant systematically subdivided and sold off the massive historic parkland for private residential development.
Today, the modern residential community built on these divided lots remains an exclusive, gated neighborhood known as the Parc de la Malmaison.
Around 1924, the plot housing the "Temple of Love" (Temple de l'Amour) and the "Les Rochers" property belonged to a friend and legatee of Armand Silvestre.
The French writer, poet, and high-ranking official Armand Silvestre had acquired this land in the 19th century. Upon his death in 1901, he bequeathed it to a close acquaintance.
The name of Armand Silvestre's legatee was the widow Madame Charles Laurent (born Marie-Blanche de L'Isle).

In 1921 Mrs. Gladston ordered a bookplate from Caroline Armington (Ex Libris, Le Temple d'Amour à la Malmaison for Mrs. Gladston (Ex Libris Gladston) CA-253).
In 1923 she purchased one of each of the eight prints of La Malmaison done by Caroline Armington (CA-313 to CA-320 inclusive).
Mr. and Mrs. Glaston had a property in the Parc de la Malmaison.
