Robin Gillespie Reid (1899–1959) was a prominent Newfoundland businessman, tourism pioneer, and international ice hockey player born in St. John's.
Robin Reid (a son of Sir Robert Gillespie. Jr. and a grandson of Robert G. Reid*of the Reid Newfoundland Railway ) built a resort at Gleneagles, beautifully located alongside Gander Lake and for many years owned and operated "Gleneagles," a tourist lodge on the Gander River in the Town of Appleton, NL.
Reid was also a talented athlete. He played right wing in elite European ice hockey circles during the 1920s.
He played club hockey for the London Lions in England.
He was a member of the British National Team and competed in the 1926 European Championship, where he famously scored four goals
