Caroline Armington recorded in her Sales book that she gave this print to Mr. A. Blomquist of the Swedish State Railways.
In 1928, Mr. A. Blomquist (often spelled A. Blomqvist in Swedish records) was an official photographer and documentarian associated with the Swedish State Railways (Statens Järnvägar or SJ).
Historical archives from Sweden's National Railway Museum (Järnvägsmuseet) credit him for widely preserving the visual history of the expansion of the Swedish rail network during the late 1920s through the 1940s.
Caroline Armington recorded in her Sales book that she sold this print and six other prints of Sweden to Consul Carl Ekman for 480 Kronen.
Consul Carl Ekman of Visby (1868–1954)
Carl Ekman was a highly influential businessman, politician, and diplomat based on the island of Gotland.
He served concurrently as the German Consul (appointed 1901) and the German/Dutch Consul (appointed 1920) in Visby.
He was the CEO of the major shipping line Ångfartygs AB Gotland, Chairman of AB Gotlands Bank, and a long-time local politician in Visby.
