Caroline Armington signatures
This is a compilation of the various signatures and initials that have been used by Caroline Armington on her prints, drawings and correspondence.
Unless otherwise noted, all signatures and initials on prints and drawings are ‘’in pencil’’.
Type 1
So far, this type of signature has only been found on one print of CA-007(Les Deux Cygnes, Bruges).
Type 2
Same as type 1 with a dot after the year.
So far, this type of signature has only been found on some prints of CA-007-E (Two Swans, Bruges).
Type 3
So far, this type of signature has only been found on a few prints of 1908.
Type 4
Same as type 3 with a dot before and after the year.
So far, this type of signature has only been found on some prints of 1908.
Type 5
Same as type 4 with an apostrophe or ‘’superscript dot’’ (instead of a dot) before the year.
So far, this type of signature has only been found on some prints of 1908, 1909 and 1910.
All prints initially made during these years but printed later bear another type of signature.
Type 6
Same as type 4 with a colon (instead of a dot) before the year.
So far, this type of signature has only been found on some prints of 1908, 1909 and 1910.

Type 7
Signature ‘’in pen’’ on a print.
Some prints may bear a type 8 signature with a very faint dot at the end (?).
Type 8
Same as type 7 with a dot at the end.

Type 11
Printed signatures were only used for certain editions of prints CA-206 and CA-347.

Type 12 ‘’Carrie’’
Used only in dedications on prints.
Type 13 ‘’c.a.’’, ‘’c.a’’ and ‘’ca.’’
Used mainly in dedications on prints.
